Step 2: Dragonfly (suborder: Anisoptera) or damselfly (suborder: Zygoptera)?

Does your specimen have 3 short, stiff pointed valves at the tip of the abdomen?

Then it's a dragonfly (Suborder Anisoptera).

Or does it have 3 long, caudal tracheal gills at the tip of the abdomen?

And a head like this?

Then it’s a damselfly (Suborder Zygoptera). We don’t have further identification available for Zygoptera larvae on this site.
